You can set up Apple Calendar to send you an email reminder for any event. You can go to any event on your calendar, add an alert, and there is a drop down list of email addresses to choose from. But how do you change the default email address? I was looking everywhere for where to change the email address that Apple Calendar alerts get sent to.
May 31, 2016 - Open Mail app in Mac OS X if you haven't done so already. Pull down the “Mail” menu and choose “Preferences” Go to the “Composing” tab. Look for “Send new messages from:” and pull down the 'Account of selected mailbox' dropdown menu to select the email address to use as the new default. Verify the settings for your email provider using your email address. For Mac OS or iOS, get details about account type, incoming/outgoing server details and more.
The answer: change your ‘work’ or ‘home’ address in your own contact in Apple Address Book application (Contacts), not in the Calendar Application. To change this email address, you need to edit your ‘work’ or ‘home’ email address in Apple Address book!- Exit from the Calendar app and open the ‘Contacts’ app.
2. Create a new entry with your email address. (If you don’t already have one).
3. Go to the menu called ‘Card’ and select ‘Make this My Card’.
This email address will now appear as the default email address in any new events in Apple Calendar.

ReplyRobinsays:August 13, 2015 at 9:37 am I set a calendar alert for mileage about 7 years ago – changed the email address and it still bounces because it is no longer active. Have looked all over the place trying to find a way to change it.

I assume you mean the Contacts app, yes? …but how do you change “your own contact”? What are the steps to find it in the Contacts app? Thanks.
ReplyWaynesays:September 29, 2015 at 9:50 pm Yes Apple ‘Address Book’ is now ‘Contacts’.
To find it go to ‘Card’ menu then select ‘Go to My Card’

I’ve checked my information in Contacts, but my Calendar still shows an old email address I no longer use, and there are no drop down alternatives!
Any other ideas folks? Thanks!
ReplyOrtwin Gentzsays:February 1, 2017 at 11:29 am Looks like this issue still occurs in macOS Sierra. I filed a radar: http://www.openradar.me/30310439 (Calendar replies are sent from wrong account)
ReplyDavidsays:September 21, 2017 at 1:06 pm I got to the stage of selecting “email” but when I do so it the screen dialogue says I have ti use Contacts. OK but when I open Contacts how do I select my address? Nothing is clickable so no entry opens in the New Event dialogue.
ReplyDavidsays:September 21, 2017 at 1:08 pm In addition there is no cell for the email address in the Event dialogue box
ReplyWaynesays:September 21, 2017 at 1:21 pm Thanks David, I’ve added a few extra steps to the article to make it clearer how to do this.
ReplyPhilsays:June 18, 2018 at 1:24 pm To get the email address cell to come up in the Event dialog box, you have to go into the “Alerts” dropdown, then scroll to the bottom and select “Custom…”, then change the selected method default (Message) to “Email”.

Curiously only my (unused) iCloud email address will come up and none of the other addresses which I use. How can I set it up to opt for multiple addresses?
Replylucassays:January 12, 2018 at 12:16 pm YESSSSSS!!!! I was getting crazy. Every time I accepted an invitation another name shows up on the confirmation email. I’ve been trying to solve this for long time. Thank you.

You can send a PDF as an email attachment from any application on a Mac. Mac’s Mail application now includes a PDF creator and viewer by default. The Mail program is integrated with all other applications, providing you with the ability to email Web pages, email messages, documents and text files as PDFs from the originating application.
Mail PDFs
Open the message or document you want to convert to PDF and send as an email attachment. In the originating application, click the “File” option, and then select the “Print” option. In the Print dialog box, expand the PDF menu, and then select the “Mail PDF” option. The document is converted to PDF and attached to a new email message.
Email This Page
You can share Web pages from Safari as PDF email attachments using the browser’s Email This Page feature. Browse to the Web page, then select the “File” option from the top toolbar. Select “Share” in the File menu to open a new email message form. By default, the URL to the Web page is inserted into the email body and a drop-down menu appears under the Subject line. If you select the “PDF” option in the drop-down menu, the selected Web page is converted to a PDF and attached to the new message.
Address and Send Email
After you convert and attach the PDF to the email message form, type a message to accompany the attached PDF in the email body. Insert the recipient's email address into the To field, and then send the message with the PDF attached. You do not need to have the Mail application open to generate and attach a PDF to a new email message. The PDF options appear in all applications on the Mac.
Alternative Solutions
You may have problems attempting to send large PDFs using the Mac Mail application. If the PDF is too large, you can use a free, cloud-based email service to send the PDF to your recipients. Gmail and Yahoo Mail allow you to email large PDF attachments through their services.
